Nice discussion of Helv Neue as a UI font

I'm not sure i'd take font advice based on the font chosen by that web site.

Hideous design over all. Excessive reliance on scripts and ridiculous layout. There's no need at all for that kind of scrolling. It's just obnoxious.

Kind of hypocritical to criticize the Apple GUI when they suck at utility in their own designs.

I don't have any trouble reading the body font on that page. It is perfectly legible on my monitor, and whoever built the site isn't subjecting you to grey-on-grey or even worse, light type on a black background.. It is similar to quite a few other Sans fonts that I have seen lately, which are not really my cup of tea, but seem to be pretty popular at the moment. But hey, let's focus on that instead of the very valid points about Yosemite's UI problems.

That's exactly my take.

And it's still apples and oranges. If they were criticizing Apple's site, that would be a little different.

Pitting sensibilities against legibility seems to me to be a waste of time.

Unless they're incorrect and there is nothing wrong with Apple's implementation of contrast and font choices for an OS.

The designer of the site and the person being interviewd about Helvetica Neue are not rhe same person. Did anyone read that far?
