Don't think we're gonna see 1TB for $200 any time soon

You mean other than the 960GB OCZ available for $200 at Microcenter now?

I've been running the Enhanced Reactor 1TB for > a year, solid performance.
Think I paid $200 w/ AmEx promo from Newegg.
The 3 yr warranty is a plus.

In-store only but still great for those with a local store.

Buying from OCZ scares me. They were purchased by Toshiba - a HUGE company that is in a death spiral, but the details specifies that warranty issues are handled by OCZ.

Hal,

My issues with OCZ is there was a large number of complaints about their drives. Things may have improved since then but I'm still gun shy about their hardware. Something cheap that isn't all that critical, fine. A main drive? Not for a while yet. The Mushkin may be more expensive but it's a company with a proven track record. OCZ's track record is mixed at best.

What bothers me MOST about OCZ is that they started on ebay selling generic RAM with the ugliest presentation EVER. It was clearly an operating-out-of-a-garage kinda thing back then. Then OWC went after them charging that they used reject material for their SSDs - ugh...

but SOMEONE made a boatload of money for a year or two there...

yeah, I'd skip any OCZ SSD in favor of...anything else.

Mushkin SSDs are often on sale.
