It is a crazy idea but many years ago when some gasoline spilled, it fell on some styrofoam and reduced it to about 1% to 5% of it's volume. I had a large trash can full of big styrofoam chunks and with a little gasoline reduced it to the bottom inch of the can. I do not advise you to do this though, the fumes are extremely explosive and accidents do happen. I repeat "DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME".

Acetone would work, too. :-)

Be very careful introducing acetone and polycarbonate to each other.
