USB-C vs TB 4 hub?

Just curious. I hooked up a USB-C hub to the USB-C port on my Mac mini that has the TB 4 ports, and it seems to work well (haven't tried the HDMI port though). Would the advantage to a TB hub just be speed, or also other things?

Well, the USB hub is distributing 10Gbps across its ports, while the TB hub would be distributing 40Gbps.

So just speed. Nothing I have wants to be fast, so I don't really have much to gain.

Well, speed and the ability to hook up actual ThunderBolt devices. But if you don't have TB devices and don't need the speed, then yea, no point.
