FW/USB2 PCI for G4/400-X 3.9 supporting deep sleep?
#11
to go back to the original question, will it deep sleep and wake when there are no mass storage devices plugged in and mounted? Usually mounted drives of some sort cause the problem, and sometimes just a card reader with nothing in it.

The Sawtooth-X3.9 will not go to sleep on command, other than the monitor. If it's put to sleep with nothing plugged in the monitor will come on. However, if a USB 2 bus-powered drive is plugged in and it's put to sleep, then the monitor will not come on and it requires a hard boot.

[quote Racer X]to go back to the original question, will it deep sleep and wake when there are no mass storage devices plugged in and mounted? Usually mounted drives of some sort cause the problem, and sometimes just a card reader with nothing in it. I have a no-name 3-in-1 card (USB2, FW400, 100bT) which supports deep sleep when nothing is connected and powered on. In other words, I have 2 USB 2.0 cables hanging off the back which are used for my iPod and digital camera connections. Obviously those are usually not connected and my DA G4/533 deep sleeps correctly. When I forget and leave the iPod connected, I don't get deep sleep. I'm not using the FW or 100bT yet as the built-in ports are enough for me so far.
