Only to find out that it won't be connected until tommorrow, even though they sent me the modem setup.
Then it messed up my dialup. Computer said could not detect modem.
I called Bellsouth to ask if it messed with dialup settings - they said no.
Called Compuserve Dialup and they said I needed to call Apple and that he did not know about Macs and everyone was busy. He said it sounded like my modem was broken and to call apple.
Could trying to connect DSL have wiped out my dialup connection info? I would like to be able to use both, once my DSL is working. I need the backup for emergencies until I am comfortable.
So I went somewhere into apple menu - maybe Network or internet connect and plugged in some phone numbers for my isp and my name and password. I chose apply.
I am now connected. But I can't remember how I did this and am afraid I will not be able to connect again if I log off.
Anyone with Bellsouth DSL , because I have a couple of questions about connecting including "the filters"?
Neither one of these companies has decent phone support, as they are both so quick to tell you to call apple and that the computer hardware is broken.
