MacJanitor in Leopard?
#1
Does MacJanitor still work in Leopard? I notice MacJanitor has not been updated since 2005-would Onyx, Cocktail, Macaroni be a better bet for routine Leopard maintenance?

Thanks in advance

I hope so, because I have been using it.

Whatever you choose -- make sure it has good reviews.

I was looking recently at a few others because I couldn't recall which one
I used successfully before.

I ran it on the Pismo (10.4.10) and since the pismo had been off for a while, I decided
to do a day/week/month deep cleaning of the cache.

I walked away.

I came back - and the piece of crap program hung up and was sitting in one place
on my drive, overheated the drive into click city, and that was the end of that.

Pismo just prior had permissions, DiskUtility repair AND DiskWarrior run, and then
I ran this other app. I wish I could recall ITS NAME - I would have posted the warning
far and wide.

Reminds me of when TechTool 4 first came out and screwed up a drive royale (but at
least didn't kill the mechanism!!!) - as well as shareware in 1993 for encrypting on the
fly by Aladdin, that didn't quite work as planned - and it took forever on my SE 40mb drive to reinstall whatever I had running - all from floppies.

First chance I get to go Positronic, I'm doing it. That way I can do my own backups and repairs from the bolts in my neck.

MJ is so simple that I'd be very surprised if it stopped working.

That's because its author realizes that MacJanitor is no longer necessary.

No.

Your Mac is its own janitor.
