First off, I'm sorry for those of you who got screwed out of this deal because of crappy service.
I got my M$ Office 2004 student & teacher edition earlier today and, installed it before leaving to hang out with a friend for the afternoon. Just got back and started up the PBook I had installed it on, turns out office phoned home and found an update while I was gone. Good, I think, bring me current. So it downloads and installs, great! Then I schedule the updater to check every month and thought if I hit the "check for updates" button it'll tell me I'm good to go and auto-quit (since there's no quit button in the updater). Well, it finds another update. Download and install... fast forward another 3 installs later! The worst part was I think ('cause I didn't stand around to watch the first 2 updates), that each update was for a different program; Word, Excel, Entourage, etc. Now I know it's a lot to ask M$ to function similar to Apple, they're completely different companies with different philosophy's on their software development. But why can't Micro$oft get their act together and make "combo" updates like Apple. If you install 10.4.6 from an install DVD you don't have to download 5 updates to get to 10.4.11, just one BIG update.
Friggin' M$!
