from time to time, my scroll wheels start feeling like syrup was spilled into them. sometimes restarting the app, or even the entire computer helps. sometimes not. sometimes it suddenly clears up on its own. this happens with different mice on different computers - microsofts, logitechs.
why? is there some cache or something i could clear myself periodically. it's a bit annoying.

Interesting. My keyboard sometimes feels like they are on a stack of pancakes.
Try some compressed air. It's probably dust. I don't think is a s/w issue.

What type of mouse? If a Mighty Mouse, try turning it upside down and 'rolling' the trackball quite vigorously around and around on a sheet of clean, white 8x10 paper.
Amazing the junk that comes out when done on a well-used Mighty Mouse.

I have a Mighty Mouse which will not scroll down but will scroll up, left and right. I thought I had it cleaned but then it started acting up and now doesn't scroll down at all. It felt like syrup before but must of formed into amber. Any suggestions? Can I pull this thing apart safely?
