[quote NewtonMP2100]. . .great episode. . .tied up enough loose ends but still some mystery. . .too bad the next 2 seasons will have less episodes per season. . .still. . .
Huh? This season had 14 episodes (counting the season finale as 2). The next two seasons will be composed of 17 episodes.

I thought with the time shift between the boat and the island, the bomb wouldn't go off so quickly. Wonder what happened to the folks in the other raft.

And a normal TV season averages 21-24 episodes. They could have wrapped this up in two seasons, but are stretching it out to three. Now what do you think the DVD's will be priced at? A discount? Not likely. The studios get a nice fat easy profit center from three dvd seasons as opposed to two. I wouldn't be surprised to see more shows start doing this. Back in the 60's and 70's shows had 26 episodes per season.
Greed, greed, greed.

Great closer. I actually need to watch it all over again since the Lakers win bled into the earlier part of the show.

Actually, the island would see the boat explosion prior to it occurring on the boat. The doctor washed up on shore with his throat slit at least half a day before the murder happened on the ship.
The only explanation would be that the boat would have moved within the time distortion of the island - but they did NOT move the boat because of the interference that the bomb was casting on the depth gauge.

That was just sublime. Like a great meal; transcendent in every bite, satisfying at its conclusion, and left me licking the plate and dreaming of the next meal.
Poor Sun, I guess those were real tears at the graveside and not just for public consumption. But I still think Jin's alive. Sawyer is like Jekyll and Hyde; one side the con man, one side the stand-up guy. He's still my favorite character. So, the island is done with Michael apparently. Timing kinda sucks, though. "No he didn't." Jack, broham, pull your head out. Yes. He. Did. (Well, Ben did, anyway.) I loved the shot of everyone in the 'copter swallowing their gum after the big flash. Just brilliant the way they wove the end of the first flashforward we saw into the continuation shown tonight. Des and Penny. Yeah, I got a little something caught in my throat when that happened. And I was just jumping out off the sofa during the Keamy/Sayid Deadly Hands of Lost throwdown. I still think my man Sayid would have taken him in the end, even if Richard hadn't shown up.
MAN, Ben is just a scary mofo when he loses it. "Sometimes, good command decisions are compromised by bad emotional responses." Yeah, that's one way to put it. And then Ben pops up out of the shadows stage left, just when I was sure he was going to show up stage right. And I can just *bet* he "... has a few ideas."
I love this show.

Great episode. Here are some of my thoughts:
1. Sawyer is a superhero
2. Loved the real, real Orchid station with the wheel
3. Michael and Jin are both still alive
4. Loved the chess match with Mr. Echo
5. Not sure what is up with Walt (why did he appear to Locke while he was laying in the Dharma pit? Was that just the island messing with Locke's head?)
6. Jack is still a one dimensional "jackass"
7. Daniel Faraday is starting to look like a douchebag
8. Why does Claire NOT want Aaron to return to the island? Isn't she running with Jacob now? Doesn't Jacob want them all to return?
9. Why did Locke leave the island? What terrible things could have happened which would make him leave the island? Very surprised that he was in the casket.
That is all I can think of right now.

Did Locke's casket seem short for his height? When he came back to the "present", did he again lose his ability to walk? Maybe lose his legs?
