Consumer Reports: does magazine get you web site?
#1
I want to subscribe to CR magazine. Does that give you access to the website? The website gives options for subscribing - 1 year of web for $26 and 1 year of web for magazine subscribers for $19. The site doesn't give info for subscribing to the magazine.

No - the two are separate. Subscription to the magazine does not get you the web.

Try e-bay for magazine subscriptions - you can usually save a bundle.

FWIW, I have the CR site and it think it is a bit lame compared to the mag (although I haven't subscribed to the mag in about 12 yrs so I'm basing my thought on what I used to receive).

There doesn't seem to be many product reviews in any given category online.

Everything that was in the magazine is on the Web. It is great for searching stuff that was reviewed some time ago and you do not have stacks of old magazines.

The mag ain't what it used to be - I let my subscription lapse years ago. I keep a subscription to the website for convenience's sake -- it's nice to be able to access a review from any web-enabled computer.
