Leopard Printer Setup - Help?
#1
Since I installed Leopard, I can't print to my Brother HL-5250DN laser printer. Jobs either don't print at all or print all jumbled up. The Brother web site says the driver is on the Leopard install disk, and I have installed the Brother drivers twice. When I use the Print and Fax setup panel, I can find the correct driver, but I still can't print properly. Could there be some corrupted files somewhere that I can trash and start the setup process over again?

Is it a Postscript Printer? If so you need to turn on Apple Talk in your Network/Advanced preferences.

Ammo,

You are correct it says the driver is on the install disk, however; if you click the link just below that statement it will take you to the following site:

http://www.brother.com/E-ftp/macosxstate-us.htm

Scroll down until you find your printer "HL-5250DN" and download the PDF file for how to install the driver in OS 10.5 there might be something you are missing while setting up your printer.

I believe I am following the installation guide, and it doesn't matter whether AppleTalk is on or off when I print. I am connecting via a USB connection. The printer is also connected to my PC via Ethernet. However, I can't figure out how to connect my Mac to the printer that way.
