Weird; just installed some software which apparently always opens when you start up, but...

... does not seem to have the checkmark for "Open at Login" when you click on it on the Dock, nor does it appear in the list of login items under Sys Preferences > Accounts > Login Items. Anybody know how/where it is that I can disable this behavior? (It doesn't seem to be a selectable option from within the app itself.) TiA

I'd check /Library/StartupItems and /System/Library/StartupItems

Did it install something in System Preferences. if so, The cure might be there. Otherwise the Startup items post is a sure bet.

Hmmm... I didn't see anything in either of the two locations that matt mentioned.

There is a control panel it installed in Sys Preferences, but seemingly nothing there that would control its opening at startup.

It probably made changes to your /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow.plist file.

If you know how to edit xml files, you can remove the entry.

What application are we talking about?

N-OS, it's something proprietary that nobody here is ever likely to have heard of.

I will check with the local guru for this software to check to see if she knows why it behaves this way.
