Economic Times: Will You Curtail Purchasing Apple Products?
#1
I don't know if this question has been asked before (was overseas for two weeks) but with all the economic doom and gloom going around how many of you are going to hold off on buying that new iPod you want or even a song off of iTunes?

I know that so long as my job(s) last I'll be pulling the trigger on a new (or refurb!) MBP after Oct. 14th. Smile

No, but I am sticking to my $1,000 budget for a new MacBook.

I really need to replace my trusty iBook and have been waiting since May to do so. Hopefully the line will be updated/refreshed in 11 days and I'll pick up one of the models being replaced.

Me, I'm good for several years. My daughter has her money saved is just waiting on MacBook/MBP updates to be released.

I'm curtailing my purchase of a new Mac, but it has nothing to do with the current Economic Times. We just had a baby, and my wife wanted to take an extended maternity leave. So for now, we've just got my salary coming in. Then, when she goes back to work, we have to pay for a nanny. Otherwise, I'd probably have a MacPro instead of my G5. It'll probably be 2 more years before I can legitimately convince her to let me get a new machine.

I've got a thread about (thinking about) buying a new iMac, but I can definitely get a little longer with the current one (an older G4) - until I get a HD video cam and then I'll need it to download the video.

But, the short answer is that my job is secure at the moment and unless I decide to do a lot of work to my house in the next year, I'll be in the same position as I have been in for the past few years, economically speaking.

If I need an Apple product I'll just cut back on spending on other items.
