Shopping for iPhone - no video?
#1
We have the cheapest phone on Verizon and I was thinking of the switch but found out it doesn't have video messaging like my phone does. Is that the right term? It takes pics but not flicks. Anyone miss this when they got the iPhone?

You just jailbreak it and install Cycorder and it will have video. But yes, the default configuration of the phone does not permit video, which I believe was a fairly major shortcoming on their part.

Wife and I like to send kid vids back and forth to save my sanity at work. Just looked up Cycoder. Cool, thanks! Let's see what tomorrow brings...

I believe that tomorrow will just be an announcement about the intended feature set for iPhone OS 3.0 and the DevKit for it. It won't be the actual release of the OS except for maybe developers.

I have this feature on my jailbroken iPhone but almost never use it. It works great, but it's not exactly (for me) a "must-have" app.

Cut-and-paste, yes, that's very much in demand.

Video, also wanted by many, but less essential.
