Anyone here ever purchase travel insurance?
#1
I'm leaving for France soon and want medical coverage while I am there, as well as coverage in case a flight is cancelled. My current medical plan will not cover out-of-country medical or dental expenses.

I have compared three companies so far on QuoteWright and one other site:
Travelex, HTH Worldwide and TravelSafe. All are comparable in price-- about $230- 250 for the month I will be gone.

Any ideas? Cautions?
Has anyone got a recommendation?

"Any ideas?"

Don't leave home without it.

"Cautions?"

Do your homework well before you leave.

"Has anyone got a recommendation?"

Check w/ your current plan for a recommendation, and/or see if they have a rider available. Compare coverages (ours has an indemnity feature for off the beaten track coverage, and it took about a year and a half to get reimbursed; if care is required, get copies of everything, whether you think it's important, or not. you never know what you'll need, or if you'll be able to get a copy once you're back home).

...and have fun!

Do Costco or Sam's sell this kind of thing? If so you might save enough to cover the cost of a membership. Same thing with your local AAA affiliate.
