Newegg address verification, caca!
#21
This has been in clear type on their purchase page for years and years. They used to (and may still) have a slot for you to put in your CC company's phone number so they can more easily call them.

They take extra steps to cut down on fraud and thus their overhead. That means prices are lower.

Reminds me of people complaining about stores that don't pay for return shipping on a warranty return. Places like Mac Mall do, but they also charge 3x for shipping. So they can afford to pay for the return shipping and they're still in the plus.

varies from vendor to vendor, but if you do a lot of business w/ a company, and they really know you, it's usually easier... IOW- if you can identify the last three or four orders that were shipped to your address, so they know you're you, most places will ship where you ask, probably hitting the equivalent of a "customer known" button in their system to allow it. the goofiest one I've had in awhile, was from a regular vendor that wouldn't ship kangaroo baseball cleats to Baby Buzz in CA because of some sort of "endangered species" restriction; what I found most irksome, was that the cleats we were trying to order were new stock that was three years old, hence the $15 sale price vs. the $110 original price. ended up working thru it, but it really boils down to who helps you, a good CS rep goes a long way... and it's easier w/ more history to base decisions on. try to be understanding while building up a history, and/or if you get a clunker rep, ask for someone else.

"where do you live? bottom of death valley?"

The border of Wyoming and Idaho, near Yellowstone. Often I get stuff shipped to a friend's business. Rebates are a hassle. too.

Newegg actually has an alternate shipping address form whereby you fill in the relevant information. It's right next to the form for your billing address.

Sorry, but I don't see how anyone can defend Newegg on this after my experience with them. I did EVERYTHING that was asked of me and was still turned down.
