Two problems with sitting facing the door that I see. If you computer and monitor are facing you, then the back of said equipment will be facing door and the first thing somebody entering the room will see will be the backs of equipment and wires, maybe many wires.

With the desk floating in the middle of the room, power wires will probably run across the floor from the wall outlet to the desk. There are covers for such things but they often look like covers for wires running across the floor. If you are still building, maybe you could put an outlet in the floor near where the desk will be.

I was always interested in the 80's and 90's when tech publications showed the computerized classroom of the future, there never were any wires running between the monitor and the computer and NO power cords to be seen anywhere.
