And how about a link for Specials?

It's the second from the left - right under the logo (it was the first thing I looked for!)

I don't much like it. It's much too busy what with a grouping of three. You have the top narrow band of tabs, then some sort of middle group that has both categories and products mixed together and then a final grouping at the bottom where everything is thrown down into it.

It's almost as if a committee designed it with everyone wanting their own input.

It's an improvement, but still a bit confusing.
What others have said .......

mick e wasn't going to say this but sometimes people need to hear things like this.

A cleaned up header would do WONDERS. The top of the page looks like the floor of a frat house basement after a keg party.

I don't see a collection of cups, bras, panties, and a few unconscious naked people...

I like the improvements but would echo the sentiment that it is still "busy" and too cluttered overall. It feels more like an ad from the back of a magazine than a site from a more tech-savvy place (that we all know OWC to be).

I like the way the US flag is part of the button bar and not a loose icon tacked in the corner like an after thought.

The Shopping Cart that can be seen with an item in it is a great innovation.

The "let us know what you think" button beside the logo is temporary right? It should say log in or "Welcome Bernie" with my forum avatar.:jest:

Wow! I can't believe all these people like the new site. They must all be engineers, not designers (mick e excepted of course). I think the top third of the page is a train wreck. You have WAAAAAAY too much stuff up there. Clutter! Clutter! Clutter! Hasn't your "designer" ever heard about the value of "white space"?

I wasn't that thrilled with the old site but at least the tabs were something easy to zoom in on to get where you were going. Your new row of buttons that replaces the tabs is marginally OK (though not distinguished well enough from all the other junk up there) but the simple headings are gone (e.g. you've replaced "Hard Drives" with the horrible mess of "Internal Storage 3.5"/2.5"/HDD/SSD + External Storage Firewire/USB/eSATA". WTF?!?!?! That is absurd.

For a start, get rid of "quick and reliable delivery..." line, the large, useless and distracting "more memory - faster performance storage solutions to fit your needs" banner, and the "New look" badge. While you're at it get rid of that anomalous "Find what's right for ANY mac" button floating out there in a completely incongruous location...nobody will ever click on it in that location anyway.

Also, the bottom third of the site is completely superfluous, both because any reader getting that far already has suffered severe mental overload and because repeats a lot of choices above. Seriously, does there really need to be THREE "Specials" buttons on the page? Also, get rid of all those distracting colorful logos that NOBODY WILL EVER PAY ANY ATTENTION TO.

Your site is the absolute opposite of the Apple clean look.

Other than that, great job ::o

We're hoping to be overall moving in the right direction with plenty more improvements to come. Pages such as this:
http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/mac-mini/

Are a general direction - easy to read, use, and understand. Clutter is distracting and as our pages catch up to our header/footer - should be much less sense of such clutter perceived.

Main question focused on the header/footer. it's easy to be critical of both the prior and the new header/footer design and i appreciate that actually - there is far more work being done and to be done. All that said - and even if only a micro step forward - we hope these changes are in the right direction and aren't so over the top that those of you who do shop every month with us would have to re-learn our site too. Too much of a radical departure can be just too much in general.

The 'site question' tag in the header was temporary, only run for 24 hours and is now cycled off.

thanks.

I agree with davester. Could have less graphic and be more concise as an entry page.

Lee and I both wanted to move toward this using CSS 3 years ago.

With far fewer items on the page and a use of "cloud" references
