I heard on CNBC this morning that they think there will be at least another 1 billion appropriated for this program.
Well, so much for that. Cash for Clunkers is broke.

That matching $4500 by Chrysler almost got me, my only issue is I didn't have the rest of the funds :driving:
So an extra billion, that means it will go one more week.

Price,
Be careful with the Chrysler deal. They'll match _up_ to $4500.00. The amount they'll actually match depends on the particular vehicle. The Patriot only gets you an additional $3500.00. The Liberty gets you $4500.00. And, these so-called match funds are actually a gimmick. Chrysler was offering the $$$ to people regardless of the clunker cash. So, people could get the $$$ even if they didn't qualify for the clunker deal. Very misleading. 'course, the clunker cash is gone (for now) so it's a moot point. Robert

Sort of a relief for me, in a way. Solves the dilemma of being lured towards a new car that still would be more expensive than I wanted to spend, but the 1/2-way affordable ones being so much less inspiring than the used Euro money pit wagon I'm destined to end up getting.
