I am running OS X 10.5.8 on a 2.7 GHz G5 Tower and the Dashboard widgets stop updating, either when I leave them visible or when I quit the dashboard and then reactivate the Dashboard. As I write this the calendar shows November 21 and all the other widgets show information as of that date. The only thing that will get to update again is to reboot the machine after which it will update for a while before messing up again. How can I get it to update?

my guess would be an unhappy pRam battery.
What's your clock say?

Clock is OK. I wouldn't think the pRAM battery would be involved unless I did a reboot, which is actually what gets the Dashboard functioning again.

since clock is OK, doubt it's the pRam.
Disc Utils if there have been any new apps installed or updated?
There are 2 plist related to the Dash you can toss.
com.apple.dashboard.client.plist
com.apple.dashboard.plist
If you're using Dashboard Kickstart, perhaps there's an update.
