Don't you just hate it when you go on vacation and...

you get food poisoning?

Happened to both the wife and me today.

Was here to see the grandkids; spent most of the day at the hotel with stuff coming out of both... Well, you get the picture...

Sucks. You have to watch what you eat.

We go to Mexico every year to visit family. Seems as though the best looking and tasting stuff is what makes you the sickest, especially the fruit. Make sure to drink lots of liquids - I usually drink bottles of Coke, once four liters straight because I had been avoiding drinking to avoid more bacteria. I wasn't thinking clearly. Don't use the ice or drink the water. Dehydration can and will kill you.

I would think that going on vacation and getting sick go hand in hand.
But, that would require input, feedback or discussion from people fortunate enough to actually go on vacation. But, from what I can imagine, foreign 'stuff' in your system would cause one to react to it.

James K. Polk never ventured more than FOUR MILES from the White House.

WHere are you and what did you eat? Local "street food"?

Believe or not we're in Idaho. The only thing we can think of was that we ate a buffet style restaurant... Unless it really isn't food poisoning but some 24/48-hour flu bug -- but the effects are the same, unfortunately...

I can one-up you. Happened on my honeymoon on a cruise ship. I also had a fresh sunburn on my back, and one that was healing on my stomach. Miserable for several days. Couldn't move, or I was in pain, yet I had to head for the miniscule bathroom several times an hour.

Cruise ship claimed there was no way it was their food prep. They say I must not be used to rich food or seafood. Um, I'm from Seattle. I have better/fresher seafood at my local market than they have on board. Their salmon probably came in the cargo hold of the airplane I flew there on.

90% of so-called "24/48 hour flu bugs" are actually food-borne illnesses.
So the chances are pretty good that it was food borne..

And people forget that it can be as little as ONE BITE out of the whole tray at a buffet that has the lucky pocket of E Coli (or whatever bug it is).

Get well soon! I know all too well how little fun worshipping at the porcelin altar can be...
