What happened to my Date and Time?
#1
Seem to have lost my Date and Time from my system preferences on my
1.67/G4 Notebook running 10.5.8. Any ideas where it went or how I get it
back? I have the 10.5.1 install disk. Would I have to do a clean install and
then update to 10.5.8?

Thanks,

Norm

Try this:
Apple menu - System Preferences - Date and Time pane - Clock section - Check the box that says "Show date and time in menu bar"

I guess I was not clear. I have no Date and Time panel in my System Preferences.
It is missing.
I cannot access what is not there.

Thanks,

A quick Google search (mac missing preference pane) found this:

I didn't read it thoroughly.

You were perfectly clear.

Having a second user that you don't really use, as Drew's link suggests, can be a big help.

If the DateAndTime.pref file *is* in your PreferencePanes folder, but isn't showing up in System Preferences, I'd first try a Safe Boot. Start your Mac while holding the Shift key for a minute or so while it starts up. It will run First Aid as it boots. You'll have to log in. When you get to your desktop, Restart. Then check System Preferences to see if DnT has returned.

IF that doesn't work, I'd try DiskWarrior. It's just a WAG on my part but it might be some kind of directory corruption.
