Old firewire iPod charger work with iPhone?
#1
I have a couple of the old firewire chargers that came with iPods way back when. Currently, those iPods are being charged by other devices. Mine is charged by a Logitech speaker system at work, wife's is charged by some other speaker system that she uses. Can this charger be used to charge my iPhone? I'd like to have a spare charger at work.

A FireWire-based charger will charge an original iPhone only, no 3G or later. Similarly, it'll charge a first-gen iPod touch only.

There are adapters---but they are more than a new charger---around $20

And iPod Mini, and Nano gen 1-3, and original iPod through gen. 4 (or possibly 5.)

Yeah, I was looking for that apple.com page that listed everything on a compatibility table, but failed. Found one at everymac.com but it was only for iPods, so I punted.
