I have an account but can't seem to get into it. It seems just another way for most folks to promote a business, and quite often.
Facebook is becoming this way, too, I have blocked several social friends that have turned their FB into bombardments of ads.
I like the social aspect not the ads, I get enough ads in other places.
I have a friend with a bar that posts drinks, games, etc. I can also see it as a way to follow sports figures and celebs, if so inclined.

I use twitter INCREDIBLY proficiently, I actually get paid to do it. But I've been personally using twitter for over 3 years. I'll be happy to chime in more later, but threeprong's post was a good intro.

I opened a Twitter account to receive some free software (Tweeting it). I've never used it otherwise. I ignored the one jackass who wanted to "follow me". People need to get a life! :oldfogey:

I find almost all the threads on macresource interesting. (excluding the political side.)
Really? I like this place a lot, but I wouldn't go that far.
I know you didn't intend for your post to sound "elitist" but it comes off a bit that way.
Ok, let's say I find MANY posts on the forum interesting... enough to check the forum often and i actually have it as my home page in my browser.
Apologies if the post seemed elitist... the other thread annoyed me a bit so I was probably writing with an attitude. .. but then again we're Mac users and have a long history of being labeled elitists....
If you read my post with a straightforward "hey-here's -what-i-think-it's cool-if-you-disagree" type tone.. then, that's the tone I was going for..

I am still open to Twitter, and have about 8 people I follow, I just don't have anything to post about. I also want to respond to some twits.
