D@MN, We Failed To Observe Yesterday...

Why single out the 2nd and 5th Ranger Bns for their service on D-Day? Every man who stepped off an LST, jumped out of a plane or slid in in gliders was brave beyond belief.

Didn't say they were not. Bless them all for the freedoms I enjoy as a result of their courage and sacrifices.

btw, LSTs were used to deliver cargo & vehicles after the beachheads were secured. LCVPs {Higgins Boats}; piloted by equally brave coxswains, delivered the initial troops. And that, was only possible by the prior recon work of the Amphibious Scouts and Raiders followed by the Navy's NCDU Teams efforts to clear the landing obstacles.
