for my daughter. I have erased drive and reinstalled Leopard from Install DVD. I would like to install SL from my own disk. How can I do that without registering again? Or does the new buyer have to buy their own SL tia.

Just to be somewhat extra safe (making it harder for anyone to retrieve data still on the disk after a simple erase of the drive (erase just tells the disk that all the space is available to be overwritten - but the data is still there until it is overwritten - my apologies if you already knew that), you may want to consider doing at least one pass of zeroing out the drive (writing random zeros and ones over every bit) using Disk Utility. Of course, you'd have to reinstall the OS after doing so.

You can actually do that to just the free space, negating the need to reinstall again...

And yes, you can just quit the setup program and shut down the computer, making it act like a completely new machine when the new owner starts it up. Was that the question?
