With more people using phones as GPS units, car GPS units and their accessories are getting less and less expensive. A friend bought a GPS 2 years ago for $800 and I recently saw it on sale for $170.

I have one of these (very good price now, btw - I paid $18) and in the last few months, I have used the GPS just twice.

I agree. I have my iPhone but we still like our 255W Garmin. I went ahead and bought one of the mounts
as I have some credit built up with Amazon and I hate spitting on the suction cup to make it stay and
then it leaves a ring for thieves to say, "hey there's a GPS in that car".

Ours has been in place for almost 6 months, no spit used.

You're braver than I. We never leave ours stuck in place while parked.

We had the window mount (no spit involved) but it obstructed our view while driving so I picked up one of these. Works great.
