Where can I download MigrationAssistantSetup.exe
#1
Google gives a lot of hits but no download links. Is it out yet? I talked a client into switching to Mac, and this would make life easier if it's out there. I have another one to do in a couple days.

I believe Apple's genii will transfer data for free if you buy the Mac in a retail store. Not 100% but worth asking.

I did one a few months ago but can't remember whether I needed any additional software. This particular PC app for migration has been discussed at length, but I can't find a download.

The migration from a PC to Lion is fantastic. Fire up migration assistant on th Mac, and it will direct you to the correct link for the PC.

Apple will transfer your data for you from another Mac or a functioning PC but not for free. It is part of the One-to-One service that it sells for $99 at the time of the purchase of a Mac. In addition to the data transfer, you get a year of in-store training.

from a quick Google:

A developer has noted that Apple supplies a MigrationAssistantSetup.exe program for PC users on its developer site, which acts as a client for the Mac Migration Assistant to pull data from as it performs a migration.

So you need to look into the "developer site"....

Ken Sp. - Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! Dunno why that didn't pop up on my Google search. I knew it was "supposed" to be on the developers site, but had no idea how to get it.
