Elgato Turbo.264 (not HD) work with ML?
#1
Before I part with my $20, does anyone know if the turbo.264 (non HD) will work with 10.8? I use it frequently and am not ready to spend $90 for the HD yet :-)
Elgato's knowledge base doesn't address the non-HD version

Just tried it out and seems to be working fine, although I haven't used it extensively. I just converted a 17 min. AVI file to AppleTV format. Took about 8 minutes.

Beware of one thing, though...

I've processed a lot of feature-length movies and TV episodes using Elgato Turbo.264, and Handbrake...

And eventually had to use Handbrake exclusively, because my Elgato Turbo.264-encoded videos were plagued with intermittent sound-sync problems.

I have a worthless Elgato Turbo.264 stick. The fact that it worked okay about 92% of the time wasn't enough for me to trust it or be loyal to it as a process I can trust.

I wonder why it has this issue?

Yeah - I've noticed that issue on some of my conversions. No rhyme or reason. I just delete it and re-convert. It's a pain, but HB takes so much longer to convert (haven't messed with it in years, so maybe newer builds have shortened the conversion time).
