One more river photo thread before the storm comes in...
#1
I was pretty busy today, but seeing that a storm was coming in, I thought I'd throw myself out the door for just one hour for a short walk around the river. Again, I went hoping to get some good pictures of the visiting swans and made a beeline for the big pond where they'd be. There is a popular viewing area at the pond that I always avoid - too many people attracting very tame ducks and such. But today as I approached, I saw a big egret very near the viewing area so I went there. And from there - from just one spot, I took most all of today's pictures. Hung out for 20 min and went home. Pretty good for such a short session...

here's a perfect photo op...

This is as close to the swans as I could get today...

A great blue heron comes in for a landing...

This little green heron just arrived looking pretty agitated...

a bit calmer now...

and I finally get around to shooting the great egret...

a nice quicky today - now four days of rain...

Are these taken around here?

Here's a link to a pdf map of the complete bike path if you don't already have it.

yes - go to the end of Arden way, enter the parking area and go to the very far end and that puts you very near the viewing area w/ picnic tables and such that I spoke of (marked by the 'B' in the pic below). When I drive down there, I usually enter at River Walk Way where the Sheriff academy is (no parking fees)
