I keep reading that iOS' included app has about a 74MB limit which results in about 34 minutes of recording but haven't tested it, and might need about an hour's worth of time for something tomorrow morning. I won't be using an external mic.

I use iTalk from Griffin. recording time varies by the quality level you set.

How long can my recordings be?
The length of your recordings is only limited by two things: Your disk space and your recording quality. An hour-long recording will take up 75MB if you're set to Good recording quality, 150MB when set to Better quality, and 300MB when set to Best quality.Or, to look at it another way, a gigabyte will store 800 minutes if you have your recording quality set to Good, 400 minutes when set to Better, and 200 minutes when set to Best.

Thanks --- I decided to give iTalk a try. The various flavors of Voxie seemed more specialized than I need. Got a 1.5 hr recording no problem, just gotta transfer and do some basic editing.

I recorded a two hour meeting with iOS's Voice Memo but forgot to turn it off and instead recorded six and a half hours. Worked just fine and my battery went down about 20%. I did not check the size of the file. iPhone 5 w/latest iOS.
