Treated your Ash trees?

Just this week we had to have a mature ash tree removed. It was to far gone from emerald ash borer infection to save. Ugh.

Sucks.
Is any of the wood salvageable when they get to it?
Most of my interior wood is Ash and it's quite nice.
Probably some if it was but we never made an arrangement with the arborist to salvage the wood.

The process was interesting and amusing to watch: Seven twenty-something guys joshing each other constantly but everyone working steadily. The tree was gone, stump and debris removed in about 90 minutes…

I have another ash tree in a far corner of the lot. It's not in a prime location where we appreciate it daily, but it is so massive that it'll probably cost two grand or more to bring it down. Maybe I should go ahead and have it treated. At least I can enjoy it for the next ten or twenty years for my money.
