Boater, Windsurfers Rescue Dog From Drowning In SF Bay
#1
This happened a couple of days ago, but I heard a follow-up this morning, and it made me feel good the rest of the day.

http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2013/08...in-sf-bay/

Adam Cohen was on his way home from the Presidio in his motorized inflatable raft when he came across the group of five windsurfers with sails down about two or three miles from shore.

“They were waving and so we went over there and asked, ‘Are you guys all right? What’s up?’ And they said ‘We’ve got a dog.’ And I was like, ‘what?’”

Cohen pulled the exhausted, shivering dog aboard his raft and took her home to Berkeley. She had a collar, but no tags.

The guy commutes to work on that raft! Cool.

Some follow up: http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2013/08...cisco-bay/

She [boater's wife] said the playful pup is adjusting to her new surroundings, including the family’s dog, and that the large puppy already follows Grodin [boater] everywhere. She said the dog is somewhat trained and that it’s “really clear that she’s used to looking at somebody for direction.”

A great counterpoint so some other stories I heard on the news today. Oh, boy.

It's a great story, but he doesn't commute on a raft. It's a 22 foot Raider 665 power boat, which has an inflatable perimeter rail.

Nice story. I like the name they gave her.

I could stand doing a commute like that.
