I love my Panasonic plasma!
I hear those Pannys plasmas have a very loyal following.

$1000 is WAY too much for any TV imo...

I have 2 pannys and plan on buying another before they are done making plasma.

My roommate has an LG lcd and it all kinds of messed up with motion blur and pixillation. It is terrible compared to my 50" 720 plaz panny from 6 years ago even.

No, but I'm very sorry I missed the Costco closeout on the 65" Panasonic plasmas...

No, I would not pay even a dime for that plasma TV.

I can appreciate that. It's hard to find many people around with that level of integrity. Cheers!
Integrity? I'm not following. Is there something wrong with that model?
Brand, not model.

That thing must weight a TON. As much as I love my Panasonic plasma 50incher. My next tv will be something lighter so I feel more comfortable hanging it on the wall.

I just picked up the CNET best by overall HDTV which was a Panasonic Plasma. Got the 60". Unfortunately for me I experience what some people call the "Rainbow Effect" where I see silhouettes of rainbows around areas of high contrast vs low contrast. So bright menus on dark backgrounds, any black and white tv, and even regular tv like a persons head moving along a darker backdrop all look like crap to me. I knew this was a problem on Rear Projection DLP tvs but didn't find out about the problem with Plasmas until I got home with it. It has something to do with the way the pixels pulse individual colors rapidly.

I took it back and got something else but since I had the panasonic a few days I will comment that the apps were slow to respond and kind of annoying. The tv itself places adds all over the place that was annoying to see. And the 3d performance kind of sucked. The few 3d things we looked at... whenever something got close to the screen it appeared to double itself. Other than that 3d was pretty cool though. I'd definitely recommend active 3d over passive 3d any day if 3d is important to you.

On the plus side the picture itself looked amazing. My wife had no problem with the rainbow effect and we both thought the picture was astounding. Too bad I can't have plasma because it's the best I've ever seen. Ended up going back and getting a 60" LED/LCD Samsung with no apps and no 3d because I didn't think it was worth the extra $500 for those features..

We, too, love our Panasonic Plasma.

We probably should keep our eye out for a close-out deal on plasmas this year. 4K content is too many years away, and the plasma is so much nicer than our LCD (or any LCD I've seen).

We did not have the Rainbow effect as far as I can see - if it's there, it doesn't bother us.

Our model is 5 years old, we just use it as a monitor and 2D, however.

sekker: It's not a problem with the tv. It's a problem with how I perceive it. People think I'm crazy but it's real and I'm not the only one that's seen it.
