I just logged into ebay, and was presented with something along the lines of an updated user agreement. Tons of 'small print' that I didn't really read, but upon clicking 'accept', I saw that the page title temporarily showed something including "Global Shipping Program". Huh, that's weird. So I went into my seller prefs and saw that my Global Shipping Program was "opted in". Bull Sh!t, Ebay. Stop trying to pull this crap. And now I can't opt out since it's been less than 24 hours since I opted in.
I swear, what is their deal? They keep pulling this crap and hoping we won't notice.

Where exactly do you see this???
I just listed something for sale today, it's the first thing I have put on eBay since the middle of 2012 and there are certainly a lot of changes since the last time I created a listing.
I did have to accept some update but don't see anything about "Global Shipping"

So people are being quasi-tricked into opting in, rather than eBay unilaterally changing your settings?

What's the big deal? The Global Shipping Program just makes it easier to ship internationally to many countries. You just ship to a US gateway and pay domestic shipping rates. It doesn't cost anything extra, nor is there a monthly service fee. Plus, you can choose not to list it globally when you create your listing.
It's a good deal for sellers. You no longer have to try and figure out import fees, int'l shipping rates, etc. It covers quite a number of countries and the one that it doesn't ship to, well, I wouldn't want to ship to them anyway because of the risk.
