Chassis screws for G4s or Macs, Weird sizes can't find...
#1
I occasionally buy a G4 and refurb it for resale. I can't tell you how many times people remove those PCI slot porthole covers to place a card in there and then never put it back OR the hold-down screw. I buy those porthole covers from a local electronics store by the handful for this. BUT THOSE freaking SCREWS-no way can I obtain them.

So I trundle over to Orchard Supply Hardware with an existing screw scavenged from another PCI hold-down. The guy over there has those template boards that you try and fit the screw into to determine the thread run and diameter. They ARE metric.
It turns out that those screws and a LOT of other Mac chassis screws are 3.5mm dia with a .6mm thread run. They only carry 3mm @.6 None of the local PC computer stores, Radio Shack or any electronic stores carry that off beat screw!(Singapore, whatya gonna do)

So where can you buy them? I want a LOT

I WILL post this on that "other" site also; I want answers-now, people :-)
