I still haven't seen any benchmarks that show if Thunderbolt 1.2 can drive a 4K panel at 60 Hz and run storage at full speed on the same bus...
Thunderbolt 2.
Displayport 1.2.
I call the new Falcon Ridge controller Thunderbolt 1.2. Apple calls it 2.0. They didn't make the total throughput of the bus any higher, it's a kludge to bond the channels so that it would support a single 4K signal. They did this so that they wouldn't look like total idiots in releasing a new "Pro" desktop that couldn't drive the new 4K displays. It means that you can't drive two 4K displays with one controller. The leftover data bandwidth is a little higher than SATA 3.0 and about equal to the PCIe SSD in the new iTrashcan.
DisplayPort 1.3 is expected to be finalized before July and DisplayPort 1.4 is starting to show up in spec sheets. The iTrashcan is DisplayPort 1.2. Official obsolescence of it's video output is only weeks away, and they way Apple implemented it means it can't be upgraded unless they can work near magic with a BIOS update.
