Apple HiFi has no volume
#1
A few days ago my Apple HiFi stopped making any sound. The light is on and responsive to the remote. I've tried playing music through the dock and through the sound input in the rear with no luck. I tried unplugging it and letting it sit for awhile and then plugging it back in. No luck. I have tried multiple sound sources and verified each one works with another speaker. Any ideas?

Is it too late to send it back?

Um... have you confirmed that it has power at the wall socket?

Yes it does have power. The light on the front of the AppleTV blinks when I press the remote's volume buttons.

Never played with one of them, do they have a headphone jack? If so, is anything plugged into it, or maybe plug in headphones to see if they get sound.

I got ahold of the original owner and discovered how to switch between the inputs. Press and hold down the menu button. Now it works fine! How easy and unexpected.

Remote Functions
You can use the Apple Remote to control playback of the attached iPod or with another audio device connected to the audio input port. To switch playback between the iPod and another device connected to the audio input port press and hold the Menu button. wrote:
