can't log in into FaceTime
#1
Mother in law lives in Romania, has a MBA 13" with 10.8.5 and we use FaceTime and Skype to keep in touch. I need both since oocasionally one will stop working.

right now Facetime refuses to log in. I have the correct Apple ID and Password, I can log in just fine into her Apple ID form my machine in US. Then I used TeamViewer to log in into her Machine, fire up facetime, put in the password, it asks me for region, etc, and then at the very and I get a server error and try again later. I log in into Apple ID from Her machine (so Apple sees a foreing IP), no problems update region, even put n address (street and City), fine, logout. Try facetime again, same server error.

meanwhile my facetime in US works just fine. Also Dad is in Romania (50 miles away from MIL) and his facetime works just fine. However, Dad is running 10.9.4 and MIL is running 10.8.5, is that the issue here?

It shouldn't be since both worked the last time you used it, Correct?

Since you are essentially on her machine, the problem seems to be in Romania. Do you have a test user set up on her machine that you could try logging into FaceTime from? I suspect that won't work either. There maybe cookies that are causing the problem (on her machine).

When was the last time her machine was rebooted?

Her machine was rebooted in the past 24 hours. Yes, I do have anothe user on her machine (my admin account). remote connection was so slow that it was unbearable to fool around with switching users today. maybe next time.

I just switched user on my machine here in the US and I am able to use FaceTime with her account, no problems logging in.
