I actually like the 5s as a phone, even if I would never buy one. Too pricey and not quite the right mix for how I use my phone. But I can appreciate good tech when I see it. The iPhone 5s isn't perfect, but it is far from the worst phone on the market. I would argue the value is still too low, as with most high end smartphones. Many users are buying far more smartphone than they need and still upgrading in a year or two anyway.
I would love for Apple to go three models of phone. Small, medium, and large. Roughly the same specs across models (pixel density, not matching esolution would matter for the screen), just down to size preference. Say $350, $500, and $650 starting price. 16GB minimum space. 2GB RAM. Decent camera. Not going to happen of course.
