Google Maps

Is there a way to get a full page map without the "pins" and suggested locations on the left side?

Just Google a city, state in the regular web search. You can then close the bubble pointer, and get rid of all but one pin. If you don't want the one pin, Google a nearby town and then drag your way to the area of interest.

I frequently harvest aerial photos (for my mapping work) this way. With my 1920 x 1024 screen, that's a lot of map in one screen grab. If you want a place in Canada, Google someplace in Montana or New York and work your way up and over. Same thing for going elsewhere in the world. I just put in "Portsmouth, VA" and zoomed out and back in on a little town in Spain. No pin or anything except the scale on the left and locator square lower right.

Hard to get much faster than zooming out to see the entire world six times across and then back in on your area of interest. Google Earth only shows one side of the globe at a time.
