Has anyone seen strawberry cheesecake at Costco, recently?

Add your own $2 jar of syrupy strawberry jam topping?

That sounds like a way to ruin even a decent cheesecake, let alone a good one. But neither have I see *any* cheesecakes at any of the three Costcos near me. I did see a variety cake a couple of times, but it wasn't very appealing.

Are we talking about the same Costco Strawberry Cheesecake?

Date is 2012. I haven't recalled seeing that cheesecake in at least a year. IIRC, the current is lattice crust Apple Pie. Haven't seen Pumpkin in a few weeks.

They were giving out demos last Thursday, in the Portland area.
It was more like fresh strawberries on top than the pie filling type in 3d's photo.

It was very good.

It would make sense for Costco to only make plain cheesecakes. The consumer can plop whatever topping they prefer on it. I suggested the jar of strawberry jam to recreate the type Costco used to sell. IIRC it was so syrupy sweet I scraped off the topping before eating. Fresh strawberries would be more preferable. I wonder if it would affect shelf life when using fresh strawberries rather than that syrupy mashed stuff they used to use.

I don't believe so.

The cakes I saw came pre-sliced, with them separated by paper, in a cardboard box.

Costco seems to engage in a bait-and-switch like policy. I've seen several food products from Costco that were subsequently replaced by a Kirkland product that wasn't as good, in my estimation.

That cheesecake might be an example, but I'd have to taste it to be sure. One product that come to mind is Del Monte Cling peaches. Those were crunchy and tasty, closer to a fresh rather than canned peaches. The Kirkland replacement is nothing like that, and disappointing. I don't buy them anymore.

Yes, this is what that cheesecake had. If that ever shows up down here, I'll have to try it out.

Not for the cheesecake, just to be clear.

That would take a LOT of dark Rum before I would try that. Or a $5 bet.
