Thursday Fantasy - What Superhero Would You Like To Date?
#21
My wife. She is dangerously psychic. Like... I saw it in action, took notes, got proof. Someone close to her is in danger... she KNOWS. Even when she is miles away.

I'd say she also reads my mind, but we've been married a long time so that's kind of normal. Besides, I'm a guy. We are pretty easy to read.

My wife has a number of superpowers:

She can turn just about any crotchety, nasty, awful human being into a softie who gives her a hug after talking with her for about 30 seconds.

She can hold conversations in her sleep. Full conversations. One or two words out of place, or a topic that seems to wander a bit before becoming truly bizarre, are the only clues that it is happening. Great party trick.

She can predict story lines better than anyone I've every known. While watching the first series of the new Doctor Who, sent to me from the UK by a friend who taped it OTA, she figured out what Bad Wolf was, who was responsible, and how.

Sorry, but it's got to be her.

I'm pretty sure Morena Baccarin is a superhero. (Drool)

Not a superhero, but, when I was in my late college days I had a crush on an anime character - Queen Millenia (Yukino Yayoi). I thought she was so pretty; the long, flowing golden hair, the sad eyes. That was my first exposure to Kitaro as well, and to this day I have warm feelings when I listen to the Millenium Queen soundtrack, or any of Kitaro's early works, like the Silk Road series soundtracks.

Does Irma—the ghost who plays the piano at LA's Magic Castle—count?

A great scene in a movie would be some sad bachelor hanging out at the Magic Castle buying Irma lots of drinks to maintain a conversation and relationship.

"Larsen led us through a labyrinth of rooms to a chamber with a bar where a piano was playing "New York, New York." I mean the piano was playing it. There was no one at the keyboard. The keys were simply depressing by themselves.

Since a piano can't play itself, there had to be an explanation. The piano is actually played by Irma, one of seven sisters who lived in the castle when it was a private home at the turn of the century. Irma took a mail-order course in piano and so distracted the family with her eternal practicing that she was banished to the attic, where she stayed until she died in 1932. Irma vowed to haunt the house, and when the piano was discovered and returned to the Music Chamber, her ghost returned with it. She plays any old thing anyone requests. All you have to do is speak up."
