This begs the question: Is the correct usage of "begging the question" dead?

I saw a column in one of the New York papers years ago, one of the tabloids. It was on a co-worker's desk, and my proofreading eye made me take a second look. It was supposedly written by a doctor, and it was discussing "pneumonic" devices. You know, the memory aids...

It's possible that the error was introduced by an editor rather than the doctor.

I can understand a doctor doing that due to using words that start with "pn" pretty often.
