How does an LP tank exchange compare to a straight refill in $?

Filled two tanks here in Southern Cal at U Haul a couple of weeks ago. For the Two it was a total of #32 or $34

If you're doing an exchange to swap out an expired tank, be careful where you get it. I've heard that Blue Rhino uses wonky valves that can't be refilled (except by Blue Rhino). I've done the exchange with Amerigas at Home Depot and no problems refilling.

That Blue Rhino odd valve thing went away a while ago AFAIK.

Feds stepped in as LPG and Nat Gas are DOT regulated. Non standard valves are forbidden.
