Samsung HD Receiver SIR-TS360 $39.98 @ CompUSA (in-store ONLY)
This can be used as an OTA HD receiver and you don't need a subscription to DirectTV. .. .
no hack necessary. . .
You might need an antenna. . .
$39.98 for an OTA HD receiver is 'da bomb!
Needless to say, probably hard to find!
CompUSA has Samsung DIRECTV HD Receiver SIR-TS360 (SKU# 314772) on clearance for $39.98. My understanding is that you can use it to receive your local OTA HD signal without subscribing to DIRECTV. If you are in the market for a HD tuner for your HD ready TV this might be a good choice.
