Wow - no reference to "Black" in that article? Heresy.

Everyone talked about Nirvana, SoundGarden, STP and Alice in Chains. But to me, Pearl Jam TEN was the quintessential grunge album. Nirvana Nevermind was a great album, but they never captured that magic again. I can't stand the sound of Cris Cornell's voice. STP seemed like they were trying to ride on the coat-tails of everyone else. Alice In Chains was also really good, but their lineup was too erratic and the results for chaotic. Being raging smack addicts doesn't help either I guess.

Great music, great era. FWIW, "With the Beatles" was about 27 years old "Ten" was released!
