Did you (pre) order the new iPhone 11?

.....most people used to upgrade every year when phone companies subsidized but the price of iPhones have gone way up these days and no subsidizing......so unrealistic to get new one each year.....most are holding on longer and maybe upgrading after 3-5 years instead.....

No. My 8 is less than a year old and I didn't find that any of the new phones could make calls any better than the one I have.

I love my SE, but with no suitable replacement, its starting to show its age with some things. Maybe an X since its slightly smaller.

AT&T still has the X for $899. Wait til the 11 ships, the X should drop another $100 or $150. But an 11 for $699 is better in every regard, except the screen.

FWIW, here are the deals -- from https://kinjadeals.theinventory.com/here...treamshare

AT&T is offering a BOGO promotion, where if you pre-order an eligible iPhone, you can pick up a second for free. (Just a heads up, you’ll find the details under the “special offers” link in the product page.)

I looked at the AT&T "deal," it's got too many requirements for me. You have to add a line (we don't need another), buy on the NextUp plan, plus an Unlimited plan.

Requires AT&T Installment Plan with Next Up
Trade in and upgrade after paying off 50% of your phone.
Never miss out on the newest device.
Best option for early adopters.
Enjoy this flexibility for only $5 more per month.
*Req’s well-qualified credit & elig. svc. Tax due at sale.

I saw that part. I might add a line and cancel and existing line by porting that number to GoogleVoice. A few hoops to save $1000 might be worth it.

The OLED screen on this X has weathered poorly with microscratches I’ve never had on an iPhone before. And the OLED definitely changes hues off-angle that prior Apple LCDs do not. I would be careful about saying the 11 has a ‘worse’ screen - the LCD on the XR looks excellent to me. Having the larger bezel around the edge is the biggest ‘negative’ and that’s pretty minor.

The X is smaller than the 11 or XR. That could be a plus for some.

I was going strictly by the numbers. I really think the 11 is a better phone than the X

No, because I am outside the US and prices are considerably higher here (don't EVER complain about 8% sales tax), but I am very seriously considering picking one up next time I am in Murica. My trusty 6 is having trouble making it up the hills...
