iPhone working again
#1
I posted a while back that my iPhone 6s, running iOS 10, was acting up. Apps weren't running properly, etc. I was almost ready to finally update to a new phone, but decided to wipe the phone completely, and reload everything. I was worried it was going to make me update to iOS 12, which I did not want because of an app I always use that was never updated. (it was working fine, even though other apps weren't).

Well, I went ahead and erased everything and restored from an iTunes backup I had made this afternoon. There was a brief scare because I had something called a "restrictions passcode" set... I never remember setting that up. I had to guess through several of my usual passcodes before I came up with the right one. But my phone is now running good again, and I'm not going to get a new phone.

Nothing wrong with a 6s - plenty fast and runs all apps.

We are about to replace a 6+ because it's clearly quite a bit slower than a 6s and doesn't run Waze well at all.

iOS12 is quite an improvement in speed and battery life over iOS11, so when you are ready to take the plunge, your hardware will still run the latest OS (I think it'll run iOS13, but don't know about speed hits).

Also kept iP6 on iOS 10 until getting new $29 battery.... of course, three months later, and after updating iOS, it was traded in on new phone promo to get Xr. jP6s+ had battery swap a few months earlier, and is still going strong. I think AAPL keeps up the bloatware expansion to force people to buy new phones in order to get respectable performance. We (as consumers) need an iOS equivalent of Snow Leopard that has legs. How long did/has WinXP last?
